About

Bishop Andrew H. Cozzens of the Diocese of Crookston, and Bishop Daniel J. Felton of the Diocese of Duluth invite you to the Star of the North Eucharistic Congress, May 17-18, at the Sanford Center, Bemidji.

The congress is a collaboration between the two dioceses and precedes the May 19 commencement of the Marian Route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage at the headwaters of the great Mississippi River in Itasca State Park. Join Bishops and pilgrims from across Minnesota, the Dakotas and Wisconsin, as we gather to celebrate and glorify Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

The congress will inspire pilgrims to increase their devotion in the Eucharist while learning ways to share the many graces of this great sacrament through powerful talks and witness testimonies, panels, fellowship, praise and worship, Mass, adoration, confession, and a eucharistic procession. The Star of the North Eucharistic Congress is for the entire family.

The congress opens Friday evening at 7 p.m. with adoration and a presentation by Bishop Robert Barron of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. Saturday begins with 9 a.m. Mass, followed by presentations from Father Mike Schmitz of Duluth; Sister Jude Andrew Link, OP of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist; and a special Eucharistic Revival panel.

There will also be an interactive presentation for families by Tanner Kalina of Saints Alive. Recording artist Aly Aleigha will lead participants in praise and worship throughout the Congress.

A large exhibit and vendor hall will be open throughout the Eucharistic Congress.

The congress precedes the Pentecost kickoff of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage which takes place on May 19, in Itasca State Park. Mass of the Solemnity of Pentecost will take place at Itasca’s Pioneer Village, beginning at 10 a.m.

Following Mass, a Eucharistic Procession will be made to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Bishop Cozzens will bless the waters of this great river, once known as the River of the Immaculate Conception.

From this location commences the 1,000-mile Eucharistic procession along the Marian Route for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage.

Details regarding registration, speakers, schedule, hotel accommodation and other important information will be made available at crookstoneucharist.org. For questions, email Bob Noel at eucharisticrevival@crookston.org.
