Mural Unveiling: This summer, Mary Therese engaged the tweens and teens at the Bemidji Boys and Girls Club in the creation of the “Tree of Life” mural which will be installed on the exterior wall of the Harmony Co-op. The unveiling will occur at Harmony’s Fall Festival on September 10th, 2024 @ 4:15pm.
Universally, the Tree of Life is a symbol of unity, connection, and strength. The mural is intended to draw attention to our diverse population of the region as it serves to build self-esteem, creativity and a sense of belonging for community youth by having their artwork part of this public mural.
Making the mural accessible to everyone, inspires conversations, engages people, and helps to aesthetically enhance and uplift our Bemidji community.
Mary Therese is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including those with disabilities, to fully engage. Accessible parking, gender-neutral bathrooms, barrier-free pathways, and other accommodations will be provided. Service animals are welcome, and we’ll have allergen information and various dietary options available.
