The Beltrami County Historical Society is excited to offer a unique opportunity to capture your family’s stories and memories for future generations. Join us for “Recording Your Personal and Family Histories,” a free workshop by local historian and author Sue Bruns. This workshop will provide participants with the tools and guidance needed to document the unique stories of their lives and families, ensuring that memories are preserved for years to come.
The workshop will be available at three convenient times: Wednesday, October 23, at 5:30 P.M., Thursday, October 24, at 11:00 A.M., and Saturday, October 26, at noon. All sessions will occur at the Beltrami County History Center, and the workshop is free to attend. Whether you’re looking to record your own experiences, capture the stories of older family members, or start a larger family history project, this workshop will offer expert tips and practical strategies to help you get started.
Workshop attendees will benefit from Sue Bruns’ extensive experience as a writer and historian. With years of expertise in helping individuals and families preserve their stories, Bruns will guide participants through organizing and preparing their personal or family histories. The workshop will also cover effective storytelling techniques, advice on using various formats such as audio, video, and written records, and tips on preserving essential family documents like photographs and letters.
