The Buena Vista Logging Village is also a unique historic attraction. The complex
includes a pioneer schoolhouse, church, camp building and Logger's Museum filled with
artifacts from early logging camps. 1997 marked the centennial year
of the town of Buena Vista. A bustling pioneer logging community
at the end of the19th century, it soon
vanished after the railroad was built through Bemidji. All
that remains is the one-room schoolhouse and the charming, historic village at the foot of the ski
hill There
you'll find the town's history preserved at the Lumberjack's Hall of Fame. Buena
Vista was recently recommended for the National Archeological Site Register.
